About the role

As a CBRE People Business Partner Sr. Director, you will lead the department responsible for employee Human Relations. This job is part of the People Strategy and Operations function. They are responsible for the design, execution, and monitoring of human resource programs and policies.

This is a US remote role to support over 5,000+ employees’ global workforce.

What you’ll do

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Assess the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

  • Provide advanced-level interpretation of company policies and procedures. This includes sensitive information, employee relations, performance management, organizational planning, etc.

  • Advise management on the accurate handling of all reductions in labor and other complicated business scenarios.

  • Identify and build training and development for gaps. Ensure training allows employees to remain in compliance while following corporate policies and procedures.

  • Implement high-level initiatives and best-demonstrated HR practices in conjunction with management.

  • Understand the business and be closely aligned with the Sr. business partners and other team members. Provide expert insight into operational issues and goals.

  • Apply deep knowledge of multiple subject areas, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within fields and across business.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.

  • Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job teams or functions.

  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Instrumental with partnering with business leader, strategic, must be able to understand where business is headed and proactively support the growth there.

  • Complex Union understanding and people support.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own role.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mentality.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $200,000 to $225,000 annual base salary plus 30% target bonus based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
