Oracle Sr. Software Engineer (Cloud DevOps) in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

This position is for a knowledgeable cloud deployment automation engineer who can assist us in building robust provisioning automation across multiple environments. This would include automation for cloud-based development environments all the way up to production and DR cloud tenancies.

Experience with Jenkins, Maven, GITLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Java is required. This individual should be highly organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently, as well as work with project managers and peers to understand requirements and build and test continuous integration and deployment pipelines. The candidate should be able to build container images, work with Oracle Registry and building Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and improve infrastructure as code implementations

  • Setup, configure and automate cloud environment provisioning with Terraform

  • Deploy application components in Docker and Podman images in Kubernetes pods

  • Write Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployment

  • Help integrate CI/CD pipelines to cloud deployment

  • Help integrate customer ordering systems with cloud provisioning automation

  • Build and integrate with cloud enablement and provisioning APIs

  • Write well designed, testable, well-documented and efficient scripts

  • Work in an Agile development

  • Good code troubleshooting and diagnosing skills

  • Write clear, concise and thorough design documents

  • Analyze current technologies used within the organization and develop processes to improve and expand upon them

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and platform teams

  • Perform other work related responsibilities as assigned by management

Required Skills:

  • Experienced in configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Helm, or Terraforms

  • Experienced working with public clouds like OCI, Azure or AWS

  • Experienced developing and consuming Java web-service APIs

  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows

  • Experience with Monitoring tools like ELK, or Grafana

  • Experienced with source control like GIT, SVN

  • Experienced in Kubernetes deployment, cluster management, POD Management, Re-pavement, SideCar Pattern, Horizontal POD Auto Scaling/DeScaling

  • Experienced in writing maven deployment scripts for new cloud native microservices.

  • Must have a good knowledge of writing Linux shell scripts

  • Must have a good knowledge working with Docker tools and images

  • Must be familiar with JSON

  • Highly-motivated, high energy individual with a strong commitment to quality

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud

  • Insurance Industry related experience is a plus

Minimum Experience:

  • 6+ Years experience with required skill set described above

Minimum Education:

  • 4-Year degree in Computer Science or similarly disciplined field and experience

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
