What You’ll Be Doing

As a Database Administrator - Oracle and SQL , you will be joining the Database Administration Team in the Platform Shared Services, Application Operations line of business. In this role, you will be responsible for Oracle and SQL database administration and support including database performance tuning, migration, incident response, security, monitoring and maintenance.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Production Support - Investigate and define operational issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs. Manage project deliverables, code deployments, incidents and ad-hoc requests.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases.

  • Ensure database security by implementing best practices for user access control, encryption, and auditing.

  • Optimize database performance, including indexing, query tuning, and resource management.

  • Implement native security features in Oracle (TDE, Data Redaction, Database Vault) and SQL Server (TDE, Always Encrypted).

  • Manage database backups, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.

  • Automate database monitoring and maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database efficiency and security.

  • Partnership - Work as a regular liaison with business partners, technology partners, senior management team, internal and external clients.

  • Projects Delivery - Act as SME in the assessment of impacts for planned system changes and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant organization standards (Business, Continuity, Security, Compliance, and Privacy); Research, analyze and support the development and implementation of new and/or revised policies, procedures and standards. Investigate, analyze and provide recommendations on issues and system outages.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 3-5 years of experience in Oracle and SQL Server database administration.

  • Strong expertise in database security, including user access management, encryption, and auditing.

  • Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

  • Experience with backup & recovery strategies and high availability (HA)/disaster recovery (DR) solutions.

  • Knowledge or experience with Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL and MongoDB is an asset.
