Job Description:
TD Infrastructure Delivery Enablement (IDE) / Application Release Engineers enable and execute the ongoing evolution of how TD Bank deploys and releases high quality products through increased automation, process optimization, and evangelizing Develops best practices. Where applicable, AREs also strive to ensure stable and available integrated end-to-end testing environments. Our ARE Practice teams improve the speed, quality, and efficiency of deploy and release for applications and Infrastructure as Code.
AREs design, develop and implement solutions, ensuring efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security; includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in an industry leading manner. AREs bring release engineering best practices to the end-to-end management and deployment of code.
AREs also provide direction and influence ways to improve the design and operation of systems to make them more scalable, reliable, and efficient by taking a design-driven automation-approach to solving problems. AREs advance the automation capabilities associated with software delivery and provide expertise at executing deployments and releases for their portfolio of products.

About This Role
We are looking for a Practice Area Lead, Application Release Engineering to build, maintain and evolve the culture and community of Application Release Engineering (ARE) Practice Leads and Practitioners. The role guides the ARE Practice Strategy and Roadmap. This role is also accountable for coaching Segment aligned ARE Practice leads on knowledge, skills, and performance, building and evolving the practice's capabilities, and advising practitioners on their work to ensure solutions are sound.

Coach a team of practitioners' knowledge, skills, and performance, building and evolving the practice's capabilities, and advising practitioners on their work to ensure solutions are sound.
Develop the Practice's talent, coaching and training strategy, and contribute to the development strategies for the Practice's people.
Lead a team of highly skilled Practitioners in an area of expertise without getting involved in day-to-day activities, providing quality assurance on the application of methods and practices owned within the Platforms.
Develop and evolve the Practice strategy as it relates to introducing tools, methodologies, and processes across the enterprise.
Understand the current skills and capabilities within their practice, actively working to close gaps.

Act as an expert or lead innovator and culture change agent for the practice amongst Business, Journey, and Platform leaders
Build and lead an engaged culture of Practitioners that inspires pride and meaningful work.
Ensure team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall business management activities.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations.
Manage and oversee the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to
the enterprise best practices.
Quickly adapt to customer, stakeholder, and regulatory needs in collaboration with Platform and Journey teams
Facilitate and foster Practice Community of Interest and use of this practice across the Technology organization.
Facilitate the development of business and practice strategies & set operational direction
Job Requirements:

University or post-graduate degree
Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
10+ years relevant experience and good understanding of DevSec Ops
Expert knowledge of disciplines and practices in field of expertise
Proven ability in soft skills people management of large teams
Advanced expertise and knowledge of specific domain or broad range of TD frameworks, technology, tools, best practices, processes, and procedures, as well as broader organization issues
Expert collaboration skills and are known for bringing diverse teams together to achieve a common goal.
Expert knowledge and understanding of business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services)
Understanding of strategic direction and champions alliances to benefit TD and/or department; advocates for operational improvements to enhance the division’s value to the organization.
