Purpose
Responsible for supporting the large-scale strategy development, planning, communications, monitoring, and reporting to support the successful delivery of the overall strategic mandate for GBM. Assists with the coordination, alignment, analysis and presentation of the overall strategy to support business objectives and drive performance.
What You'll Do:
Work closely with the MD, Business Insights to support senior management, business line leaders and a diverse set of stakeholders to refine and continuously evaluate GBM's strategic plan, ensuring strategy alignment across all business lines and geographies
Support the development of materials, plans and performance indicators used by GBM Executives for various key audiences: Scotiabank's Board of Directors, Scotiabank Executives, investors, rating agencies, etc.
Monitor and report core KPIs to the GBM Senior Leadership Team through dashboards/progress reports; measure progress against executing GBM strategy and achievement of GBM APP deliverables
Support annual goal planning process and annual strategy development with Business Line / Functional Leaders, Regional Leaders, COO teams and GBM Finance
Help prepare materials for internal, Executive, Board and investor discussions and presentations
Assist the MD, Business Insights and GBM business managers with strategy related initiatives including ad hoc projects and reports
Support request from Investor Relations and Enterprise Strategy by providing data, performance updates and business metrics for GBM, as required
Perform ad hoc analyses related to business metrics and analytics as requested
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

What You'll Bring:
University degree in Finance or Economics
Experience in management consulting or corporate strategy development a plus but not required
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI considered an asset
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with good attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn and understand complex businesses and operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, team-based environment, with ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and direction
Superior interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank
Self-motivated; work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member
Excellent written communication and visualization skills
Familiarity with basic accounting principles
Strong planning and time management skills including the ability to identify and proactively address critical items in advance
Work Arrangement:
This position is currently a hyrbid role, with the expectation that you will work at least 3 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
