Jacobs Senior Permitting and Regulatory Specialist -Toronto Canada in Toronto, Ontario
Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Senior Permitting and Regulatory Specialist to join our team in managing new linear infrastructure projects in the Greater Toronto Area. This strategic role involves project management and leading environmental strategy with our clients. The candidate should be based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and willing to travel to the Toronto office twice a week (Tuesday and Thursdays preferred). This position involves project management and leading environmental strategy with our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead environmental strategy and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to drive project success.
Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and manage project budgets.
Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. with an OPPI designation
Minimum of 15 years of experience in linear infrastructure planning in Ontario (roads, powerlines, pipelines).
Experience with Environmental Assessments (EA) at the Ontario/Provincial level for linear infrastructure. Transmission experience is preferred.
Familiarity with Ontario Energy Board regulations and processes is beneficial.
Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
In-depth understanding of Federal and Ontario environmental regulations and requirements.
Demonstrated experience leading a collaborative team and contributing to the preparation of environmental assessment for a diverse range of projects.
Experience engaging with Federal and/or Provincial regulatory agencies, stakeholders and Indigenous communities.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Positive attitude, self-motivated with strong initiative.
Strong project management skills with a focus on technical aspects.
A driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract for client meetings.
