Title: Field Service Technician Terms: Permanent Pay: $27-35/hr plus full benefits Location: In the field between NY and NJ Provided: Company Vehicle and paid expense card

salary: $27-35/hr

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

  • Location: New Jersey, covering both New Jersey and New York City areas. The candidate should expect to commute between the two locations regularly.

  • Daily Field Operations:

  • The technician will be responsible for field repairs, customer support, and handling service calls across various locations, especially parking garages in New York and New Jersey.

  • This job involves working outdoors, often in challenging conditions, such as extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

  • Tasks include troubleshooting mechanical issues and networking problems, often involving proprietary equipment like kiosks, intercoms, and card readers.

  • Technical Skills:

  • A combination of basic IT knowledge and hands-on mechanical skills is crucial. Candidates should have a basic understanding of networking, such as how servers and clients communicate, as well as how cloud-based systems function.

  • The technician will need to troubleshoot general PC and network issues, as well as mechanical issues like ticket jams or sensor problems.

  • Familiarity with tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, and power tools (drills, grinders, saws) is required. They should also be able to take apart equipment, replace parts, and conduct repairs when needed.

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment

  • manual lifting up to 50lbs

  • standing for 8 hours at one time

  • working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week

Skills

  • Field Repairs (1 year of experience is required)

  • Low Voltage (1 year of experience is required)

  • Power Tools (1 year of experience is required)

  • Testing

  • Hardware Troubleshooting

  • Software Troubleshooting

  • Customer Service

  • Years of experience: 2 years

  • Experience level: Experienced
