Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
Position Overview
The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking 2-Full-time and 2-Part-time Certified Peer Recovery Specialistsfor our Wellness Center. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialists will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, navigator and motivator to individuals who uses substances, those in recovery or seeking treatment in the Mercer County Area. What it’s like to work at the Rescue Mission of Trenton Founded in 1915 and located in Trenton New Jersey we serve men and women who have no place else to turn for shelter, clothing, treatment and food. We provide a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient and the addicted. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here. Our services encourage individuals to reach their greatest potential and create an environment where one can live with dignity, build self-esteem, responsibility and hope. Our clients are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, education literature, housing, counseling and mental health treatment. This position is an important part of helping our clients navigate their Substance Use Disorders. Qualifications For Position
Education: High School Diploma, GED; Associates Degree preferredCertification: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) Strongly Preferred or must obtained CPRS Certification within 1 year of employment.Other Requirements:Valid driver’s license
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist's Duties and Responsibilities
• Transports residents to and from approved locations• Provides observation time, as requested• Assists residents with orientation to the program in collaboration with treatment team • Provides coordination of non-clinical resident needs, services, and assistance • Works collaboratively with the treatment team • Demonstrates an ability to work with clients with co-occurring disorders• Collects specimens for routine drug screenings • Completes physical checks and monitors residents to detect unusual behaviors and report as needed• Provides direct client services and life skills information services in support of resident treatment plan• Supervises resident activities including education, recreation, work, and daily life skills
Pay Rate: $17.51 without CPRS Certification, plus $1.00 per hour paid out quarterly $22.25 with CPRS Certification
