Responsible for designing and developing the embedded software of quality mechatronic products within agreed timescales and budgets according to company procedures; implement embedded standard C software, and perform requirements analysis, providing traceability through customer specifications, software units, and test cases; debug software with debuggers and emulators, and problem solve and help debug hardware issues during the design phase; become familiar with hardware component specifications and schematics, ensuring optimal quality; provide technical support to manufacturing by creating documentation; use version control software and conduct releasing and variant control of software; create and run unit tests for owned software modules; participate in code reviews and carry out integration testing per a specification created by the team; utilize DaVinci Configurator, Vector DaVinci Developer, Lauterbach Trace32, Embedded C, Python, CAPL, Vector CANoe, Clear Case, Git, DOORS, Polarion, and Jira to perform duties; investigate and support customer questions and complaints, ensuring optimal provision of support and customer satisfaction; provide technical support to the creation and adaptation of product and system architectures; use the team lead master schedule to determine software activities; follow internal SPICE process and templates, including code reviews, work products, and specifications; provide technical support for internal software audits; lead team weekly meetings; and provide technical support during customer meetings when needed along with the team lead.
Location: Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $111,300 per year;
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as an Embedded Developer, as a Programmer, as a Resident Engineer, as a Software Development Engineer, or in a related occupation;
