The Department of Professional Education Programs of The Esteves School of Education at Russell Sage College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education in Physical Education, effective for Academic Year 2025/2026.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Teaching load of 7-8 courses per academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) including supervision of student teachers.
Advising students in the undergraduate physical education program
Service and scholarship appropriate for a tenure-track position at a teaching institution.
The estimated base academic year salary for this position is $50,000 commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate should have the following:
A terminal degree in physical education or related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (ABD considered), and/or significant experience in teaching physical education in PK-12 schools;
New York State or equivalent certification in PK-12 Physical Education or eligible to hold teaching certification;
Strong leadership and management skills;
A track record of collaboration;
The ability to work in a dynamic environment;
Willingness to support the recruitment and retention of students in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
