Hobart Brothers, a division of ITW, provides innovative and high-quality filler metal solutions (including metal-cored, flux-cored, aluminum, and solid wires, as well as stick electrodes) to customers around the world. Hobart Brothers has manufacturing facilities in Troy, OH, Piqua, OH, and Traverse City, MI.

• Must be able to operate, calibrate, maintain, repair, and follow the cleaning checklist if applicable for the following instruments:

• Optical Emission Spectrometers

• Navy Train

• Leco RC-612

• Leco CS-744 and Leco CS-200

• Leco ON-736

• Humidity Chamber

• Melt Button

• Hardness Tester (HRC)

• Microhardness Tester

• Ability to operate metallography equipment:

• Abrasive Saw

• Polisher

• Mounting Press

• Track inventory of consumables.

• Track turnaround time utilizing TrackVia program.

• Ability to operate transit van to transport samples as necessary.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Maintains a safe, clean, well-organized workspace, and performs housekeeping duties as necessary.

• Must always wear all necessary PPE (glasses, face-shield, gloves, safety boots/shoes, and hearing protection).

• Safety conscience and willing to be part of a proactive safety and improvement culture.

• Prepare samples using industrial bandsaws, drill press, and belt grinders as needed.

• Lift up to 50lbs as necessary and work on your feet up to 7 hours per day.

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

• Must be a team player.

• Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Willing to cross-train and assist as needed in Lab Service Areas (Bandsaw, Machine Shop, and Mechanical Testing Lab).
