Barefoot Brand Flooring, a division of Cummings Lumber Company, is currently seeking a day shift Maintenance Technician to perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on machinery, mechanical equipment and utility systems at our Barefoot Brand Flooring Plant in Troy PA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major mechanical and electrical repair of all production machines and supporting equipment.
• Completes and maintains a record of daily, weekly and monthly checklists on equipment maintenance and maintenance reports of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Installs electrical wiring and equipment, for alteration and replacement projects.
• Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Assists with building renovation and remodeling..
• Performs outside custodial duties such as mowing and snow removal as required. 

• Obtains estimates for supplies and parts; orders parts as needed.  

   

Job Knowledge / Skills / Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, repairing and/or troubleshooting issues on production equipment and buildings.
• Must possess the ability to rapidly assess, analyze and resolve complicated problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
• Preferred experience and proficiency in hydraulics and industrial electrical repairs.
• Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff as well as outside clients and vendors.
• Serves as a technical resource providing guidance and assistance to production personnel.

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, work overhead, work in confined spaces and work in very hot or very cool environments.
• Must be able to work in an Industrial environment with wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, vibration, and moderate to high noise levels.
• Perform all assigned duties in the safest manner. Comply with all Company and OSHA Safety Rules and Regulations. Report (or fix) all safety hazards and malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
