Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Tucson! This will be for our client in the non-profit industry and will be fully based in-office. As a Payroll Accountant, you will be instrumental in processing payroll, maintaining employee benefits, and managing accounting functions. The Payroll Accountant will be joining a great team, and where the employer cares for their employees, as well as a great sense of giving back to the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full cycle of payroll processing for various facilities for 130 employees

• Manage employee benefits, including the open enrollment process.

• Utilize Paycom to input benefits details and other necessary information.

• Handle payroll specifics such as garnishments, deductions, 401K, and loan payments.

• Collaborate with team members on matters relating to short/long term disability and FMLA.

• Maintain accurate records of all accounting functions.

• Occasionally travel for meetings with staff members across different locations in southern Arizona

• Conduct benefits review and provide relevant information on the benefits package to employees.

• Utilize various Accounting Software Systems for efficient execution of tasks.

• Perform Compensation Analysis and Auditing as required.

• Apply Accrual Accounting principles in financial operations.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Proficiency in Paycom is required

• Experience in Compensation Analysis is highly desirable

• Knowledge of Payroll - Garnishments is required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
