Your Impact at SAM
Serve as the client’s on-site representative, ensuring contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations
Perform field inspections, document progress, and provide recommendations on work quality and challenges
Maintain detailed daily reports and verify contractor payment requests and invoicing accuracy
Assist with materials sampling/testing and confirm sufficient testing is performed
Read and interpret plans, specifications, and applicable standards
Utilize SiteManager to ensure contract compliance; familiarity with PrC software preferred
Work with Primavera and other scheduling software preferred but not required
Perform standard mathematical calculations related to construction
Effectively coordinate with contractors, government agencies, and project stakeholders
Able and willing to work flexible schedules, including day or night shifts, as required
Travel as needed for project assignments, including preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and inspections
Perform additional tasks to support project and company goals
What You Bring to SAM
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) for roadway or bridge construction projects
Direct field experience as a contractor or materials-testing technician may substitute for construction inspection experience on a case-by-case basis
Strong knowledge of FDOT construction inspection procedures, specifications, and standards
Certifications Required:
CTQP Final Estimates Level I
CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I & Inspector Level II (Bridges)
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I & II
CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I & II
CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (including sign, lighting, and traffic signal structure foundations)
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Nuclear Radiation Safety
Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training & Certification
