Aerotek EHS Manager in Union City, California

Job Title: EHS Manager

Job Description

This position will lead EHS for the Union City site. The shift is 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The person has to be on call 24/7 due to the nature of the role. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and environmental policies follow best practices to control and mitigate hazards, analyzing operational functions, developing and updating policies, SOPs, and procedures, and conducting PPE assessments. The role involves performing risk assessment analysis, investigating accidents, conducting root cause investigations, and managing the worker’s compensation process. Additional duties include coordinating safety inspections, conducting safety training, and managing compliance programs like the California River Watch program and CUPA.

Hard Skills

  • EHS Specialist or Coordinator level role

  • 2+ years in EHS

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Union City, California.

Work Environment

Every day may involve working on the floor, performing activities such as auditing processes, working with production and maintenance, helping clean up accidents, and working with hazardous waste removal companies. Other days may involve desk work, such as entering reports and conducting audits. The office will be located on the floor with a heavy smell of chocolate.
