Position Summary

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examines form and texture or parts to detect imperfections.

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Repairs or replace defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.

  • Starts devices to test their performance.

  • Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

  • Initiates purchase request for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment.

  • Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or General Education degree (GED)

  • Five (5) year related experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate mechanical abilities.

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

  • Ability to resolve problems.

  • Strong team work and inter-personal skills

  • This position requires the ability to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Intellectual flexibility & technical acumen

  • Read & interpret mechanical & electrical schematics
