JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
We are searching for a highly experienced Administrative Professional who is proactive, team-oriented, quality conscious, and customer-service focused to join our Office of the Director at the Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory (PSU/ARL). PSU/ARL’s purpose is to develop innovative solutions to challenging national problems in support of the Navy, DoD, and Intel communities engineering and technology needs.
You will direct the administrative workload and workflow across the office to include setting priorities, improving efficiency, meeting deadlines, ensuring compliance, and supervising the Administrative Support Assistants.

You will:
Supervise, direct, and oversee general administrative functions and activities for ARL senior leadership
Perform moderately complex and confidential administrative duties
Act as point of contact and monitor human resources, security, IT, and facility processes and documentation to ensure deadlines are met
Lead the administrative staff while setting the standard for professional behavior and effectively communicating roles and direction
Coordinate, prioritize, and maintain schedule and calendar of meetings, appointments and special events in multiple calendars across offices, to include government sponsors
Serve as backup for the Executive Assistant as needed
This position will be filled at the supervisor level. Minimum requirements include an Associate’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required skills and experience include:
SAP/Concur (or similar program)
Atlassian tools such as Confluence/Jira (or similar program)
Prior supervisory experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Success in a fast-paced office environment, where confidentiality and various forms of communication and organizational skills were crucial to be effective
Ability to obtain a government background security clearance
Preferred skills and experience areas include:
Security Information Management System (or similar visit request system)
Classified Control System
Knowledge of Penn State University policies and procedures
Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required
Your working location will be 100% on-site, located in State College, PA.

The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
