JOB TITLE: Clerk Receptionist

CLASSIFICATION : Classified

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under general supervision, provides telephone or direct contact reception and provides a variety of office support services and related tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer with experience creating with Google, printer, copy machine, telephone, etc.

  2. Effective oral and written communication skills

  3. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members of various backgrounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma Required.

  2. One year of specialized training beyond high school preferred.

  3. Two years experience as an executive secretary or office manager preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Greet parents, faculty, and students.

  • Monitor and manage building visitors, volunteers, and guest teachers.

  • Keep an accurate list of calls, messages, information requests, meetings and appointments, and discipline references for the principal and staff when necessary.

  • Manage and maintain student arrivals during the school day.

  • Maintain student records.

  • Refer students to principal when necessary.

  • Enter student conduct referrals from teachers into the computer and distribute copies to proper recipients.

  • Keep an accurate record of locker assignments for reference.

  • Assist with basic office operations; photocopy, sort incoming mail and printing, order office forms, etc.

  • Assist principal secretary in daily duties.

  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.

  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires eye/hand/arm coordination and dexterity of fingers and hands in keyboarding, calculating and fingering and grasping small objects normally weighing less than 10 lbs.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling and related physical activity.

  • Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.

  • Drug, tobacco, and alcohol free while working.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.

  • Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • At-will employee

  • 9 Month position.

  • Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines.

  • Performance evaluated annually.
