Upstate Cerebral Palsy System Administrator in Utica, New York
Description
The Systems Administrator is a dynamic on-site role responsible for the day-to-day support of a complex server and Office 365 infrastructure that supports 80+ sites and 1,600+ users. This entry-level position is responsible for server maintenance, server configuration, application updates, Active Directory, troubleshooting, Office 365 and level II technical support. This role collaborates closely with the Senior Systems Administrator.
Core Responsibilities
Manage and support 55+ Microsoft Windows servers, including Office 365.
Perform routine server maintenance and entry-level support tasks within VMWare.
Manage and effectively prioritize a wide range of short-term and long-term projects.
Perform IS department software updates and server patch management.
Support and maintain technologies responsible for IS disaster recovery.
Collaborate with the Senior Systems Administrator to remediate vulnerabilities, and secure systems.
Support data backup solutions and confirm data restore functionality on a routine basis.
Implement Active Directory updates, including but not limited to users, groups & group policy.
Responsible for internal and external DNS record management.
Maintain and periodically update technical server documentation.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in field of Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Information Technology OR;
4 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Information Technology.
Experience with the following technologies:
Email Technology: Alias’, Distribution Groups, Rules
Microsoft: Active Directory, NTFS, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Remote Desktop Services, Windows Operating System
Mobile Devices: Android, Apple iOS
Office 365: Exchange, OneDrive, Outlook Online, Teams
PCs: Diagnostics & troubleshooting, Hardware
Security: Mobile Device Management (MDM – Meraki Preferred)
Software: Management, Monitoring & Reporting Software (Lansweeper & PRTG Preferred)
Knowledge or familiarity of the following technologies:
Encryption: Certificates, TLS
Networking: OSI Model, SNMP, TCP/IP
Security: VPN
Servers: Group Policy, RAID
Virtualization: Design & use cases (Basic Concepts)
Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and working from home required.
After-hours on-call responsibilities.
Travel is required. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license & dependable vehicle.
