What you’ll do:

• Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning

• Ensures standards for food safety and quality testing by maintaining documentation accuracy and testing control plans, monitoring laboratory training and testing to ensure all personnel are capable and proficient in laboratory methods and protocols, verifying processes and products are in compliance with federal state and company specifications, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision

• Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity awareness

• Leads Continuous Improvement efforts by working with management to streamline operations, maintaining department operation efficiency, resolving issues before they impact compliance, and distributing work assignments to ensure on time completion and release of products

• Manages the business plan by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, coordinating workloads,establishing on-going training assistance, supporting HACCP program, troubleshooting quality issues and concerns, assisting with compliance regulations, and leading special project efforts

• Manages laboratory inventory levels to ensure laboratory functions properly by ensuring protocols are followed, monitoring the rotation and usage of consumables to ensure timely usage, and preparing purchase requisitions to provide the laboratory with the proper stock levels of consumables

What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years’ supervising experience within a related environment (for example, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing)

• 2+ years’ clerical experience (for example, filing, data entry) using computer applications (for example, email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Visio)

• Nice to have:Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or related field

• Nice to have: 1+ years’ experience with supervising or leading a technical team

• Nice to have: 1+ years’ experience with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, SSOPs, CIP, SQF, FSMA, Appendix N Antibiotic Testing, DMC – Direct Microscopic Count, DMSC – Direct Microscopic Somatic Count, Sediment Testing, Freezing Point (Cryoscope)

• Nice to have: 1+ years’ experience with Chemical and microbiological methods using instrumentation (for example, HACCP program, HPLC, GC, ICP, ELISA, micro plate readers)

• Nice to have: 1+ years’ experience with Laboratory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing laboratory (for example, micro lab, plating samples)

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$120,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
