John Soules foods is looking for a Logistic Manager to join the team in Valley, Alabama!!!

The Logistic Manager will oversee our company's shipping operations. This position is responsible for processing shipment orders, monitoring the packaging, and labeling of completed orders, and evaluating the performance of carriers and shipment department employees to ensure smooth and cost-effective shipping services.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Enforces all company work procedures, safety rules, and company policies.

Monitors and enforces all HACCP programs and responsible for maintaining food quality and safety within the plant.

Manages and monitors shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing policies, programs, and procedures and develops and implements standard operating procedures as needed.

Accountable for the security of inventory through system transaction/documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.

Oversees the daily operations of receiving, warehousing, staging, and shipping.

Monitors warehouse capacity of stored finished goods and packaging and raw ingredients.

Ensures receiving is compliant and follows SOP as control measures for ensuring the facilities does not adversely affect ingredient, allergen cross contamination, packaging material, and safety.

Motivates, evaluates, and trains subordinates on daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Conducts disciplines employees, as needed.

Ensures weekly safety trainings and meetings are attended and training completed.

Attends weekly planner/scheduling meeting and other meetings as directed by Distribution Manager.

Monitors, reviews, and approves employee time sheets on a weekly basis.

Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner.

Enforces all company rules in a fair and consistent manner.

Evaluates procedures, systems, resources, and equipment to identify any deficiencies and implement departmental process improvements.

Reports any food safety or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.

Follows JSFs all OSHA safety rules Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)

Other duties as assigned.

Negotiating the price of shipment transportation with carriers.

Keeping shipping operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency.

Hiring, training, and supervising shipping employees.

Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers.

Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.

Documenting processes and reporting to management as required.

Evaluating carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics.

Required Skills / Abilities:

Knowledge of shipping industry regulations and working knowledge of shipping/receiving practices.

In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation.

Extensive budgeting and reporting experience.

Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be knowledgeable in GMPs, Food Defense and Safety, HAACP, and Inventory Systems Management.

Requires proficiency in electronic shipping software and proficiency in Excel is a plus.

Familiarity with computerized and manual inventory practices.

Good understanding of RF scanners and OSHA regulations relating to forklift operation.

Forklift operator license required.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, sales personnel, and customers.

Ability to calculate figures, and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, mass and volume.

Works with all department heads and attends management meetings.

High level of interpersonal sk lls to handle sensitive and confidential situation and documentation.

Ability to manage small and large projects.

Consistently meet deadlines.

Develops written procedures for improvements that increase department efficiency.

Bilingual skills in both English and Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED Required. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or similar preferred.

Minimum 5 years supervisory/management experience in Food Manufacturing preferably, Food Warehouse, Distribution, and Operations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Required to be able to stand and walk constantly, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.

Required to be able to reach above their chest frequently, and use their hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel.

They may need to be able to operate manual pallet jacks, and manage loads of over 2,000 lbs.

Having good vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Being able to adjust their focus.

Being able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
