Job Duties

Performs routine maintenance on all equipment; maintains and repairs basic electrical wiring, motors and allied equipment, read and use schematic diagrams. Must have a minimum of 2 years of industrial manufacturing and processing experience. Basic fabrication skills, Arc Welding, Tig Welding and Mig Welding. Strong Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.

Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician on 2nd shift will perform typical maintenance tasks to support the production floor in the front line/raw or RTE area of our plant.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the production floor and the entire facility.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: Basic p umbing, Basic Industrial electrical, machine repair, plant layout, painting, and janitorial.
  • Required to be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
  • Must feel comfortable with working in a team environment consisting of JSF employees and outside contractors.
  • Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his/her tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • High school or tech school education and 3 years of factory related experience in a maintenance environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
  • Lifting of objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders
  • Standing for extended periods, Squatting, Stooping, Walking
  • Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, slip resistant boots, Lockout/Tagout devices
  • While performing certain tasks and anytime within the plant

Work Environment:

  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, and shop environments, hot and cold temperatures, wet environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
