Looysen I Care - Valley City is seeking an optician/patient care coordinator to provide excellent patient care and assist the overall office with patient care, while demonstrating how we love eyes and care about the people behind them. Not sure what an optician is? Dont worry, we will train the right candidate! Must have a willingness to learn!

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet, register, instruct and provide general assistance to all patients that enter Looysen I Care
• Ensure phone calls are answered timely, professionally and respectfully. Apply good listening skills, as well as problem solving skills
• Obtain demographic and financial information and enter/scan into EHR
• Collect copay, co-insurance, deductibles and/or past due balances and post into EHR while maintaining and balancing our cash drawer
• Interpret the results of eyeglass prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists
• Advise patients on proper eyeglass frame selection based on the prescription and the patients features. Fashion sense is helpful!
• Recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit the patients' needs and preferences
• Measure patients to determine proper frame and lens placement
• Adjust frames to properly fit the patient's face
• Make sure that orders for glasses have been processed accurately
• Understand insurance benefits and coordinate with patients
• Repair and dispense eyeglasses to patients
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings
• Show up to work on time and professionally dressed
• Additional Duties as directed by doctors and office managers
