PeaceHealth Director Patient Financial Advocacy - Remote in Vancouver, Washington

PeaceHealth is seeking a Director of Patient Financial Advocacy. This remote role requires the incumbent to reside in OR, WA or AK.

Under the direction of System Director of SBO, provides oversight of financial counseling, financial assistance applications, screening and outcomes, as well as Medicaid eligibility and determination. Maintains a thorough knowledge of all state, government and regulatory programs and shares information with and acts as a resource for Patient Access and vendors (if applicable), Case Management, PH Financial Leadership, and Revenue Cycle Leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees Medicaid eligibility program for uninsured patients across all PeaceHealth Service Lines across system to help uninsured patients apply for and receive Medicaid or other coverage for PeaceHealth services.

  • Drives for changes in work products and processes that will improve functional area efficiencies and effectiveness. Partners with organizational leaders to ensure that operations and processes remain consistent and emulate best practices.

  • Motivates, facilitates, mentors and coaches team to deliver high quality, cost effective services. Facilitates the ongoing learning, well-being, professional satisfaction and development of staff through training, work assignments, increased responsibility and mentoring.

  • Manages complex Revenue Cycle projects, working with key stakeholders across PeaceHealth. Coordinates and implements revenue cycle initiatives, including identifying and assembling resources when necessary.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, and implements them by engaging stakeholders throughout the organization. Works in partnership with local and regional leaders of operating units to identify new ways to enhance financial products and services.

  • Ensures that organizational integrity and regulatory standards are maintained in all Revenue Cycle policies, procedures and processes. Ensures that all team members know and understand their role related to regulatory compliance. Facilitates compliance with administrative/legal requirements and governmental regulations as they relate to Revenue Cycle operations.

  • Manages assigned departmental budget oversight. Includes routine monitoring, adjustment and annual budget development process.

  • Ensures the revenue cycle data quality monitoring and related training. Monitors work unit compliance with internal controls and develops remediation plans to address identified control weaknesses.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.

  • Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years related experience in the revenue cycle or finance.

  • Minimum of 5 years Management experience.

  • Experience in multi-hospital systems preferred.

  • EPIC Certification preferred.

  • Ability to develop and present concise information.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures in a hospital or clinic environment.

  • Working knowledge of EMR and Revenue Cycle tools.

  • Detail oriented and well organized.

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $124,924.00 – $187,366.00 annually. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
