This is a Job Description for a General Manager Production 1^st^ shift

 in Vicksburg, Mississippi

Summary: This position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting, and calculating results accurately; taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, and isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management; any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  Responsibilities include coordinating production units to achieve company-wide and individual complex goals with a minimum amount of waste or rework; establishing complex objectives; identifying the requirements to meet production needs; providing leadership direction in establishing a safe environment and a Good Neighbor policy with the community. Other responsibilities include providing direction and assisting in the development of managers that can be promoted to higher levels of responsibility; ensuring company personnel and benefit policies are implemented properly; evaluating various capital projects submitted by management to determine their feasibility; approving all new hires and overseeing personnel salaries and wages; performing other responsibilities as the need arises. This position is also responsible for food safety, food quality and legality.

: Bachelor s degree or equivalent preferred. Experience: 10 plus years' minimum experience in live and plant operations, Poultry preferred. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for example; checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries. Travel: 12 plus trips per year. Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for managing multiple groups of personnel who perform dissimilar tasks and activities in several different departments.
