Duties and Responsibilities:

The Specialty Technician II at the Victoria, Texas Caterpillar facility– Repair performs a variety of product quality related duties, specifically repairing issues with machines, while adhering to Caterpillar’s core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and sustainability. The Specialty Technician II will effectively interact and communicate with facility management, manufacturing engineers and production employees to help ensure and improve quality within the facility.

All employees will be required to:

• Repair machine hydraulic and electrical issues

• Investigate/resolve product problems

• Repair machine fit up issues

• Train, coach and assist production techs and repair 1 techs in the assigned area on the technical aspects of their work

• Coach employees in the assigned area on teamwork, general safety and skills development

• Serve as backup for any position in the assigned area when unexpected absences occur, or other activities requiring assigned employees to be away from the job for some period of time

• Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others

• Adhere to the company’s health and safety policies and safe working practices

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Adhere to our core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment and sustainability

What You Will Have:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication or welding role

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Previous experience in a repair related position where mechanical skills were required

• Welding or Machining experience

• Microsoft suite experience

• Robot/Cobot Welding experience

Physical Requirements  (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, and ability to perform repetitive operations

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

• Ability to climb up and down ladders and use floor creepers, and work on top of machines in process

Additional Details:

• Shift: 1st Shift - Full Time

• Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, may be required to work overtime

• Sponsorship/ Relocation is NOT offered for this role

• Starting Pay: $20.05

Summary Pay Range:

$20.05 - $26.05

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
