Job Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for making maps, geographic information systems applications, manipulate and understand digital land data and manage data entered a GIS database. Must be familiar with the ESRI ArcGIS platform as well as other GIS tools. Knowledge of implementing and writing schema and attributes into the GIS database.
Responsibilities
Customer Facing Position
Provide field sketches for Natural Gas Service/Main route locations according to customer standards by GPS and or digital sketches
Identify all existing utilities within the proposed route of main/service installation.
Communicate as necessary discrepancies or issues with proposed location with engineering & sales contacts.
Draft designs using AutoCAD when requested
Qualifications
High School Diploma
Excellent verbal and electronic communication
Microsoft 365/Outlook knowledge
Android/Apple Tablet knowledge
GPS/GIS (Trimble/Leica) Surveying Knowledge
AutoCAD
Natural Gas &/Or public utility installation & design is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
