About the role

Role Description, Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

1.Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel.

2.Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory, SQF, and customer demands and requirements.

3.Daily review of destoner rejects and track findings.

Key responsibilities

4.Daily plant walk-through and product sensory inspection to ensure finished product is with specifications.

5.Daily processing of finished product samples to be sent to third party laboratories. Create sample request forms for outgoing samples.

6.Weekly water testing program management.

7.Evaluate products and disposition out-of-spec material.

8.Create COA for outbound shipments, ensuring all results are in spec at time of shipment.

9.Process samples for mycotoxin and NIR testing. Maintains inventory of necessary materials.

10.Enter results from in-house and third party testing into SAP finished product batches.

11.Create daily report of quality issues and concerns and communicate them to management

12.Oversee pre-shipment program to ensure customer satisfaction, when applicable.

13.Perform internal audits to foster continuous improvements

14.Assist with implementation and maintenance of Environmental Monitoring Program.

15.Act as SQF Practitioner Back-up in overseeing the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF system.

16.Use and understand SAP system to create QC documents & QA sample labels, authorize finished product results and disposition accordingly. Use SAP to hold/release products as needed.

17.Review supplier COA against specifications. Use SAP to hold/release raw materials.

18.Use Intelex to manage document control, non-conformances, CAPA, audits and inspections.

19.Schedule and facilitate third party calibrations.

20.Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

21.Keep detailed and accurate quality records. Scan and file quality and food safety records.

22.Conduct employee training on quality topics.

23.Prepare monthly reports including environmental results, testing efficiencies, etc.

24.Have a good understanding of the general purpose, philosophy and direction of Kerry as a whole and specifically the Vinton plant as it relates to employee policies and expectations, quality, customer satisfaction, GMP, sanitation, and production requirements.

  1. Works well in a team setting. Adheres to Kerry attendance policy.

26.QA Technician reports to QATM.

  1. Other duties as assigned

28.Maintain awareness of customer and regulatory demands and focus.

--In absence of QATM and QA Supervisor the QA Technician is the back-up.

Qualifications and skills

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent training and experience

Knowledge of food manufacturing preferredKnowledge of quality assurance programs such as Food Safety, HACCP, SQF are preferred

Computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint are essential

Communication and problem solving skills are essential
