Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States, for an experienced Sr. Accountant. In this role, you will be working closely with the Director of Accounting, taking on a multitude of financial responsibilities, including processing taxes, working with external auditors, and various month-end close tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and reconcile various General Ledger accounts

• Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of state/local annual tax reports, business tax, and Sales & Use Tax

• Handle monthly Sales and Use tax operations using Avalara and quarterly Canadian sales tax (GST/PST)

• Support during federal and state audits as needed

• Take charge of various month-end close entries

• Execute company census surveys with precision

• Manage business & contractor license and auto registration renewals

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Analyze General Ledger transactions and develop journal entries

• Maintain meticulous account reconciliation practices. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably within the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are addressed promptly.

• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, maintaining the integrity of financial records.

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations, verifying the company's financial records align with bank statements.

• Expertise in managing the General Ledger, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.

• Comfortable with making Journal Entries, documenting business transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, using it for financial analysis, data management, and report generation.

• Experience in Month End Close processes, ensuring all financial data is accounted for and reported on a monthly basis.

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP financial software, utilizing these tools to streamline accounting processes.

• Ability to adapt to new technology and software as needed to meet evolving accounting needs.
