Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a skilled Senior Depot Equipment Engineer to manage the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of depot facilities and equipment for rail or metro projects. This role ensures that all depot systems and equipment, such as maintenance machinery, lifting systems, inspection tools, and automated cleaning systems, function effectively to support smooth train operations and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in depot equipment management, with strong technical expertise in rail or metro maintenance facilities, covering lifecycle activities from procurement and commissioning to operations and maintenance. This role requires significant experience in rail and metro projects, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the UAE or GCC region.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design and Installation:

  • Oversee the design and layout of depot facilities to ensure efficient train maintenance and operation.

  • Specify technical requirements for depot equipment, including lifting systems, turntables, wheel lathes, inspection pits, and automated cleaning systems.

  • Coordinate installation and commissioning of depot equipment, ensuring alignment with operational needs and project timelines.

Maintenance and Optimization:

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for depot equipment.

  • Monitor equipment performance, diagnose issues, and lead troubleshooting and repair efforts.

  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance depot operations and equipment reliability.

Testing and Commissioning:

  • Prepare and oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities for depot systems and equipment.

  • Validate equipment performance against design specifications and operational requirements.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure that all depot equipment and operations comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Develop and enforce safety protocols for equipment use and maintenance activities.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of depot equipment.

  • Review technical documentation, drawings, and manuals provided by suppliers.

  • Act as a liaison between the project team, operations team, and external contractors.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of equipment specifications, maintenance activities, and operational performance.

  • Prepare reports on depot equipment status, issues, and improvements for project stakeholders.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • 15 years of experience in the installation, testing, maintenance of the Depot equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of depot equipment such as wheel lathes, jacks, cranes, inspection systems, and automated cleaning systems.

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and tools.

  • Understanding of safety regulations and standards for depot operations

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Effective project management skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Good oral and written skills for project interactions

  • Ability to interface with all levels with project team, client, and others.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret project documents.

  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that complies with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture.
