Overview

Direct, coordinate, plan and oversee all Transportation tasks and operations within the organization.

Transportation operations manager is responsible to assuring performance objectives and standards are met. Transportation Operations Manager shall have a minimum 5 years’ experience in managing Transportation Operations in projects of similar size, scope and complexity (PWS 2.2.2.1)

Responsible for Annex 1503030 Integrated Solid Waste Management is to specify requirements related to the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials, the operations of the land filed and the Resource Recovery Facility. (PWS 1.1.)

Responsible for Company vehicles fleet maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure DOT, OSHA CFR 29 1926 requirements for road cargo transport are met.

• Assign trucks, ensure drivers know their routes.

• Ensure vehicles are routinely inspected.

• Coordinate daily work plans for repairs and routine maintenance and keep track of vehicle maintenance needs.

• Ensure that all drivers and operators have the correct, up to date qualifications.

• Responsible for issuing Driver License testing procedures for MHE CESE operators.

• Familiar with NAVFAC P- 300 fleet maintenance and procedures.

• Familiar with parts and labor guides, and references.

• Responsible for Parts inventory levels, familiar with automotive consumable items.

• Familiar with DoD 4500.36R Scholl bus requirements.

• Familiar with NAVFAC P-300 trip tickets dispatching process, for Navy C Pool rentals.

• Familiar with NFPA Fire apparatus reference.

• Responsible to supervise EVT mechanic maintance and repairs.

• Familiar with shuttle bus schedules.

• Responsible for Daily fleet status maintenance report.

• Familiar with the State of Florida land field procedures or equivalent. (PWS 2.2)

• Familiar with Contingency destructive weather plans for solid waste containers removal and securing. (PWS 2.3.3)

• Familiar with Solid waste vehicles and equipment repairs.

Qualifications

• ASE Master Mechanic Auto and Truck required

• Knowledge of transport methods, costs and benefits

• Maths knowledge

• Knowledge of engineering, science and technology

• Design skills and knowledge

• Analytical thinking skills

• Ability to work well with others

• Complex problem-solving skills

• Good attention to detail.
