About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) Consultant to join our elite team. This senior-level position is designed for a distinguished professional who holds the APM Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) designation or equivalent. As a Principal Consultant, you will lead the development and delivery of large-scale, high-impact projects, programmes, and portfolios. Your role will encompass strategic leadership, client relationship management, and the mentoring of senior consultants. This is a pivotal role that requires deep expertise, exceptional leadership, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results for our clients.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Strategic Leadership - Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the delivery of complex projects, programmes, and portfolios, ensuring alignment with client goals and organizational strategy;

  • Client Relationship Management - Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and senior stakeholders, understanding their business challenges and providing strategic guidance on project, programme, and portfolio management;

  • Portfolio Management - Advise clients on the prioritization of projects within their portfolio, ensuring that investments align with strategic goals and deliver maximum ROI. Implement portfolio management tools and techniques that provide clients with visibility and control over their project investments;

  • Risk and Issue Management - Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks that enable clients to navigate uncertainty and deliver projects successfully. Provide expert advice on complex risk scenarios, helping clients to make informed decisions that balance risk with opportunity;

  • Thought Leadership and Innovation - Lead the development of thought leadership within the consultancy, contributing to industry publications, speaking at conferences, and sharing insights on emerging trends in project, programme, and portfolio management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to seek out and implement best practices across all engagements;

  • Team Leadership and Mentorship - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior project/programme/portfolio management consultants, providing guidance on complex projects and supporting their professional growth. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and the development of high-performance teams;

  • Business Development and Growth - Play a key role in the growth of the consultancy by identifying new business opportunities, leading proposal development, and securing new client engagements. Collaborate with the business development team to expand the consultancy’s market presence and strengthen client relationships.

  • Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project, programme, and portfolio management, with a focus on large-scale, complex initiatives across multiple industries. A Master’s degree or similar qualifications and experience;

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change;

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute strategies that deliver long-term value and align with broader business objectives;

  • Risk Management Expertise: Deep understanding of advanced risk management practices, with experience in mitigating risks across portfolios;

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at the highest levels of client organizations;

  • Business Acumen: Strong financial management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and deliver projects that maximize ROI;

  • Adaptability: Ability to navigate complex and dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities with a focus on delivering excellence;

  • Professionalism: High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding the consultancy’s reputation for quality and excellence.
