WESCO Senior Tax Accountant in Indonesia
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting Wesco’s tax compliance, audits, tax provision, and tax planning. You may also assist in reviewing the work of more junior staff.
Responsibilities:
Work with the local country accountants based in APAC countries under the supervision of the APAC Tax Manager
Prepare or review VAT/WHT calculations and reports (including performing checks on invoices) for all Indonesia entities
Prepare or review e-Bupot (WHT certificate) for all Indonesia entities
Lodged or approved online filing for WHT and VAT returns for all Indonesia entities
Provide Indirect tax advice to the sales, purchases, accounts payable, credit, and operations departments.
Handle corporate tax filing for all Indonesian entities, including preparation or review of temporary and final Corporate Income Tax (CIT) computation including permanent items vs temporary items consideration, and providing the information to the local tax agent.
Handle Prepaid CIT (if any)
Prepare Effective Tax Rate calculation as well as quarterly reconciliation of tax accounts, and quarterly & annual tax computation for US reporting purposes.
Handling tax-related notices and audits by tax authorities.
Support / Involve in direct and Indirect Tax and Customs Audits, including Tax appeals or Tax objections (if any)
Liaise with the tax agent (providing information & conducting the first pass review) to get the local file / TP documentation and country-by-country reporting and mandatory disclosure requirements.
Analyse and implement best practices and internal controls related to tax-sensitive processes.
Contribute as a subject matter expert to specific projects such as mini health checks and building up processes/tax governance.
Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Designations – CPA is preferred.
Experience with taxes (3 years required; 5 years preferred)
Knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices and their application.
Knowledge of pertinent tax laws, codes and regulations
Must be able to multi-task, work independently, be self-motivated and demonstrate strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong office and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to research and analyze a variety of information.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Assembly of data and preparation of reports.
