Red Hat Software Engineer- Hybrid Cloud Management Security in Ireland

The Red Hat Insights Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer, with experience in Cloud Security to join the Hybrid Cloud (https://www.redhat.com/en/solutions/hybrid-cloud-security-approach) Management(HCM) Platform engineering organization. In this role, you will work as a member of a small team responsible for delivering management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. You will serve as a security lead, overseeing and driving the security of our offerings. As a developer on the team, you’ll write code, review pull requests, fix bugs, experience agile development and application deployment with the latest technologies in the field of containers. You’ll need to be someone who is smart, friendly, collaborative, and curious, who loves to learn and teach as both a mentor and a mentee.

What you will do

  • Develop new features that support management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings

  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for our customers

  • Partner with Red Hat security teams to define a cloud security vision

  • Develop solutions to ensure that data deployed to our managed services are secure

  • Coordinate with our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to design and implement security monitoring solutions

  • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements

  • Participate in the development of new features and capabilities to enhance the security of our OpenShift Managed Services

  • Support the operations of OpenShift managed services by responding to and troubleshooting system alerts

  • Identify security architectural issues; propose and implement more resilient and scalable solutions

What you will bring

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience using object-oriented languages; Golang is preferred

  • Experience working with product security, InfoSec, and deployment teams

  • 3+ years experience managing Linux-based systems in a public cloud such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • 3+ years experience with enterprise systems monitoring; knowledge of Prometheus and/or Splunk are preferred

  • 1+ years experience delivering hosted cloud services

  • 1+ year experience working with Kubernetes and containerization on Linux

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot systems issues

  • Solid understanding of standard TCP/IP networking and common protocols like DNS and HTTP

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
