As an Autonomous Database Specialist you will focus on delivering technical and procedural guidance to assist customers in defining the platform requirements through to realisation of the subscription value - assisting throughout the cycle from pre-sales to consumption, focusing on providing the best usage experience and making the deployment a success.

Collaboration will be a key characteristic of your work both with customers and inside Oracle including with other Specialist teams and Product Management.

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated technical specialist who specialises in Cloud, Database and Data Centre infrastructure who has a passion for expert problem-solving and value articulation, to join our team. The specialist will work in an international environment.

What You’ll Do :

  • Guide customers already using or looking to adopt Autonomous Database on how to achieve Database platform Excellence by adopting best practices and supporting tools in the areas of Infrastructure, Database Workload, and Autonomous Database Security.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional technical teams to collect all relevant inputs to ensure the solution is as complete and actionable as possible.

  • Accelerate customer opportunities with new and existing customers through technical presentations, workshops, solution assistance, POC

  • Research and evaluate emerging solutions and services to drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate directly with product management to steer features based on customers’ inputs and requirements.

  • Create compelling assets encompassing external publications and internal documentation, focusing on Autonomous Database and our recommended processes for running workloads.

Required Skills/Experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • Relevant Solution Engineering experience with a Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Ability to engage with Customers and Internal Stakeholders to have strategic conversations around Autonomous Database, particularly in trusted advisor roles with C-level executives in relation to IT services articulating service and technology solutions in terms of business value and risk.

  • StrongExperience with Oracle Database and Database Administration. Experience in Exadata Cloud Services or Cloud at Customer, Data Centre Networking and Security.

  • General knowledge of other hybrid Cloud Offerings

  • Knowledge of the converged database concepts, data integration and migration. Knowledge of Data Centre topologies.

  • Deep Knowledge of Database Architecture.

  • Strong understanding of OCI, including hands-on.

  • Experience in helping Technology Leaders to adopt platforms for workload optimisation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to solve sophisticated technical issues in hybrid cloud-based environments, effective communication skills, collaboration across teams, and conveying technical concepts to non-technical key stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technical domains.
