V2X Regional Logistics Specialist in Philippines

Overview

This position reports to the Regional Logistics Manager in support of the Logistics & Transportation function, part of V2X Corporate Supply Chain at HQ.

This position requires a strong background in logistics and pricing analysis with proven accomplishments with cross-functional teamwork, experience working with remote teams and solid negotiation skills. As such, we are seeking someone with excellent communication and leadership skills to act as a main interface for vendors and subcontractors within their assigned scope. Responsible for analyzing cost/price data to determine price reasonableness, support and participate in negotiation efforts with subcontractors, programs, and business development teams. Must be comfortable with speaking to subcontractors/suppliers and providing a summary of the discussion.

The position calls for strong analytical abilities, superb attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the delivery process. You will support the programs as needed to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to utilize best practices to improve the supply chain using their interpersonal and problem solving abilities. Major area of focus is transportation and logistics, in collaboration with the HQ Global Trade Compliance Team (GTC).

Prefer experience working with international companies who are not used to working under a US Government prime contract and the patience and ability to coach them through the process. Must be capable of working independently in a high paced, demanding environment with minimal error rate. Comfortable with frequently adjusting priorities to include new taskings with little to no advance notice. Responsible for protecting the legal and financial interest of V2X Systems Corporation during all discussions and interactions with customers and suppliers. Supports all internal and external audits and provides program support to both internal and external customers. Operates under the functional guidance of Supply Chain organization and Corporate Purchasing Manual.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial transportation working knowledge is required, along with knowledge of military freight is strongly preferred. In addition, knowledge of packaging methods; hazardous cargo requirements; blocking, bracing, and tie-down principles; and carrier capabilities and procedures for movement of cargo across all modes globally.

  • Experience with a transportation management system (TMS) is preferred, especially Oracle OTM.

  • Qualifies logistics suppliers, supports the RFP process, assists with evaluating proposals, supports the documenting of cost and/or price analysis, and assists the SCA in maintaining compliant subcontract files in accordance with established procedures and FAR guidelines

  • Assists in coordination with other functional areas on matters related to logistics; prepares responses as necessary to customer correspondence and other requests • Identify, qualify and formalize which logistics suppliers should be on a preferred supplier list.

  • Evaluating the quality and value of existing contracts

  • Preparing reports on metrics to share with management

  • Maintaining a current database of vendors

  • Sourcing new vendors

  • Researching service prices and comparisons

  • Work with programs to provide strategic recommendations to drive efficiencies and reduce costs

  • Work with programs to drive issue resolution with challenged shipments

  • Support programs in expedite efforts of mission critical shipments

  • Communicate with other departments within the organization to identify efficiency issues, develop solutions, and implement changes

  • Analyze route schedules or load plans, historical activity, and customer trends to make suggestions for enhancing routing efficiency and solution efficacy.

  • To eliminate waste, examine present procedures and suggest or implement improvements.

  • Proactively control key performance indicators, undertake root cause analysis, and employ transportation management systems.

  • Must be comfortable in working with subcontractors/suppliers and providing asummary of the discussion.

  • Map typical operating procedures

  • Respond to customer inquiries with independence and discretion, then offer solutions.

  • Collaborating with internal subject matter experts to address issues and assist with implementations

  • Performs other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA degree preferred, one-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Experience:

  • Prefer a minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a logistics or supply chain function

  • Preferred:

  • Experience managing contracts, subcontracts or material purchases in support of a US Government prime contract

  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint

  • Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
