Position Summary:

As an internal communications specialist, you will support the Human Resources department in developing and implementing strategies to facilitate clear and effective communication within the organization. You will be responsible for content management within HR, coordinating companywide communication efforts and serving as a writer for assigned articles and communication projects. This position will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that key messages are communicated efficiently and consistently across all channels.

This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Director of Employee Experience.

What you will do:

  • Internal Communication Strategies: Lead and orchestrate various employee communications with emphasis on Human Resources initiatives and programs, including general HR-related matters, benefits, compensation, wellness, and recruiting. Build and manage a communications calendar and assist stakeholders in editorial planning to ensure all employee-facing communications are delivered to the right audience, at the right time, and through the right channel.

  • Content Management and Creation: Responsible for working with internal business partners to develop content strategies, standards, and communication templates. Write, edit, and p roduce engaging and original content for internal communications channels such as the company intranet, emails, and presentations. Provide support and management of policy revisions and updates.

  • Change Management: Develop and execute effective communications and change management strategies to promote engagement and adoption of various HR and corporate-wide workforce culture transformation initiatives including but not limited to new policies, procedures, and programs . Create communications plans and FAQ documents as applicable to assist team members understand the objectives and transformation initiatives.

  • Message Alignment: Ensure consistency in messaging across all internal communication channels and materials in key messages, voice, and themes to reinforce organizational goals, culture, and values.

  • Content Effectiveness: Provide counsel to HR and various departments to help ensure appropriate and effective communication methods, messages, vehicles, and timing to achieve desired outcomes. Define the measurement process to measure the effectiveness of efforts through monitoring channel performance KPIs and engagement metrics (i.e., Connections Intranet, Slack).

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, marketing, and other departments to ensure adherence to brand and communications standards aligning with the broader organizational goals and initiatives.

  • Event Coordination: Assist in coordination of internal events such as values committee meetings and team-building activities. Participates on various internal teams and committees to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • High school education or GED. Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years related work in internal communications, with experience in a fully remote organization.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Exceptional writing, visual communications, presentations, and editing skills, with the ability to articulate details in clear, concise communications.

  • Knowledge of best practices in internal communications and employee engagement.

  • Experience engaging internal audiences through a variety of media and mediums.

  • Proficiency in utilizing various communication tools and platforms (e.g. intranet, Teams, Slack, etc.)

  • Creative thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Proven ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change.

  • Strong attention to detail and on-time completion of deliverables.

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Physical Demands :

    Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: 

  • Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%)  

  • Keyboarding (70-90%)  

  • Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone requiring close vision (70-90%) 

    Work Environment: 100% Remote: Work environment is at home.

    Compensation :
