This is an on-site position at our new Diageo Plant in Hope Hull Alabama.

Diageo Montgomery:
As part of its efforts to build an increasingly resilient and efficient supply network, premium drinks company Diageo North America announced plans to open a new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, Alabama. The 360,000 square foot facility will have a multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo’s leading beverage alcohol brands. This site will enhance the company’s North America supply chain operations and support future growth for the company’s export business.
The new facility, which will be referred to as ‘Diageo Montgomery,’ will provide a new point of operations closer to the company’s beverage distributors in the southern region. The site’s strategic location is expected to reduce required road travel, significantly helping to further mitigate carbon emissions associated with logistics operations. The new facility will also employ state-of-the-art technology for more efficient water and energy usage across the site.
Context/Scope:
Position requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of production operations including:
Ensuring Zero Harm across all aspects of the business
Quality – 100% Adherence to global finished product standards
Improving delivery, through application of Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques - MMS practices
Full delivery of production schedule week on week
Asset care plan delivery to ensure the highest levels of maintenance for manufacturing equipment
Deliver or exceed budget targets & tracking with focused critical metric delivery
Labor contract and regulatory requirements.
Team leadership and individual development for all team members
Financial Responsibility
Eradicate any risk of personal, brand or environmental harm – ZERO Harm. Fully use the SIRC program of risk assessment, escalation & resolution
Responsible for achievement of labor & waste cost targets. Improving operational efficiency (OEE > 70%) of RFT (right first time) output
Minimize the number & cost of quality defects. Reduce quality defects to <1,000 ppm
Budget Management - Labor management, Overheads, and Cost of quality targets
Purpose of Role:
A key leader in attaining our ambition of being the best FMCG Supply chain in the world
Provide leadership for the assigned crew in a 24X7 operation
Responsible for safe execution of the production plan to required standard of quality delivery.
Responsible for creating & evolving the optimum Performance Culture, using Manufacturing Excellence tools. Ensure strict adherence to the MMS system.
Responsible for continuously improving all aspects of performance, enhancing efficiencies in cost - especially labor & waste
Major contributor to development & execution of site strategy
Lead & develop a team of 4-7 salaried team leaders, and 120 hourly associates on crew, improving their engagement, ownership & productivity.
Work closely and in effective partnership with the operations leadership team to drive consistent best in class practices adherence and delivery of all critical metric targets
Key Outputs:
Safety = Zero Harm. Own & maintain safety improvement plans. Drive the SIRC (Site Improvement Report Card) process improving safety mitigation and ensuring ZERO harm and ensure timely follow-up to resolution.
Quality <1K ppm defects. Drive quality as a commercial advantage. Intervene, call out, drive continual improvement and gain resolution on behalf of the consumer.
Schedule adherence in operations and maintenance (> 95% ATP and >90% PM compliance). Ensure the highest standard of reliable delivery building Diageo’s reputation as a great partner and enabling optimal in market inventory
OEE >70%. Improve labor efficiencies by purposefully driving operational effectiveness through strict adherence to Manufacturing Excellence processes.
Super engaged > 50%. Believe wholeheartedly that super employee engagement enables all the above. Always seek out creative ways to engage with your most valuable asset while holding individuals and teams accountable for top performance.
Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and hold team accountable, perform tasks per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and follow general housekeeping guidelines and rules for Food Safety Regulations. Keep all areas updated with 5S.
Strong development / Capability building for all direct reports - team leaders. Strong and timely coaching and visible leadership is required in this area.
Implement Man-Ex best in class practice process enhancements to improve processes related to package and flavor changeover efficiency (Set-up time reductions).
Apply Man-Ex concepts to improve asset utilization and plant performance through use of visual management tools.
Based on Man-Ex concepts, develop action driven work streams through use of TRACC system to further overall practice maturity levels to achieve extraordinary standards
Lead daily tier process driving excellent performance with ownership at the proper tier levels
Qualifications and Experience Required:
BA/BS in Management, or Engineering, five plus years of experience in high speed manufacturing plant;
Track record of leading and developing managers, operators and mechanics
Strong analytical and financial budgeting skills
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities, prioritize effectively, and manage time.
Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of high speed bottling activities, including machine operations, machine changeovers, start-up, shut-down, package quality, OSHA standards, and BATF compliance.
Experience in formal Continuous Improvement processes including LEAN, Six Sigma, TPM, TRACC, and/or Manufacturing Excellence experience
