What You Will Do
- JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the contract manufacturing suppliers and their sub-suppliers for materials. Handle the categories in scope across all factories in the Americas, delivering commercial agreements which optimize value for money. Additionally, the Senior Buyer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and deliver quality, supply, and cost performance across the different material categories while maintaining all regulatory mandates for materials. Manage the relationships with the suppliers for the assigned categories. Collaborate with Global Procurement on category management. Develop peer relationships and continually collaborate with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced.
- WHAT YOU WILL DO
Duties and Responsibilities: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company)
Lead negotiation & delivery of commercial agreements which optimize value for money
Adhere to standard regional/global procurement processes
Ensure early procurement engagement in projects & significant spend areas to maximize procurement impact
Drive continuous improvement within categories managed
Ensure risk management & contingency planning is in place for all key suppliers /materials
Lead, manage projects related to category with appropriate scheduling & risk management, to deliver intended goals
Develop peer relationships, continually work with key stakeholders to obtain inputs, challenging their needs & KPIs to ensure strategies, supplier base meet business requirements
Raise instances of non-compliance to internal stakeholders (where this results in less than optimum benefits been realized)
Develop deep knowledge of the supplier base, emerging technologies & relevant materials markets, to conduct analysis, planning for effective supplier negotiations which deliver world class cost base
Work within the Company Procurement and Global Procurement teams in adherence of all standards and expectations on NTM procurement process.
Work with Company’s Internal Compliance Group to ensure all aspects of Direct Procurement is compliant with Legal/Regulatory expectations
Cost management of assigned categories, through analysis, negotiation, tracking of material cost level, aiming for yearly target reduction
Review spends for Total Cost of Ownership opportunities & process improvements
Formulate effective negotiation strategies, lead negotiation planning, execution
Evaluate current & new suppliers and conduct tenders, RFP, RFQ, projects
Utilize ITGB Risk Management process, audit system for evaluation of NTM suppliers
Able to negotiate high complexity contracts, to propose clause adjustments with Legal/secure desired commercial topics through contracts
Manage relationships, performance of suppliers, including Business Review meetings
Understands relevant laws, regulations, organizational requirements.
Administer contract performance, including roll-out, delivery, receipt, warranty, damages, insurance for selected contracts
Manage negotiated price files with factories and Finance
Ensure that the Company is getting value for money and what was initially agreed in the contract
Qualifications
- REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience to include, but is not limited to category management/sourcing experience
1+ years supervisory experience
Must be 21 years of age or older
Knowledge of:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
Sound knowledge of analysis in Excel
Strong PowerPoint knowledge
Sound procurement knowledge (tendering process, procurement terminology)
Skilledin:
Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage projects or programs
Verbal and written communication

Problem/situation analysis
Effective time and task management
Multitasking capabilities
Flexibility and adaptability
Ability to:
Proofread and check documents for accuracy
Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

Travel domestically up to 10% of the time and internationally up to 5% of the time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently
Work Environment and Physical Demand
Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light weight objects (up to 10 lbs.).
Sits for prolonged periods of time.
Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
Exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
