Our nonprofit client in Vista is seeking a highly experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their mission-driven organization. This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of the organization’s financial activities, from day-to-day bookkeeping to preparing detailed financial reports. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting regulations, and the ability to handle complex financial tasks independently. Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts.

• Handle restricted and unrestricted funds accounting, ensuring proper allocation in accordance with grant and program requirements.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support key organizational initiatives.

• Prepare documentation for annual audits and work closely with auditors.

• Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including GAAP and IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.

• Collaborate with leadership and program staff to provide financial insights and data.

  Requirements

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience in a nonprofit organization.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and advanced Excel skills.

• Experience with restricted fund accounting and grant tracking/reporting.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices, including Form 990 preparation.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
