Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper (Non-Profit) in Vista, California
Description
Our nonprofit client in Vista is seeking a highly experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their mission-driven organization. This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of the organization’s financial activities, from day-to-day bookkeeping to preparing detailed financial reports. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting regulations, and the ability to handle complex financial tasks independently. Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Perform monthly reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts.
Handle restricted and unrestricted funds accounting, ensuring proper allocation in accordance with grant and program requirements.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support key organizational initiatives.
Prepare documentation for annual audits and work closely with auditors.
Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including GAAP and IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.
Collaborate with leadership and program staff to provide financial insights and data.
Requirements
3+ years of bookkeeping experience in a nonprofit organization.
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with restricted fund accounting and grant tracking/reporting.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices, including Form 990 preparation.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
