SUMMARY
Directs and defines activities of the assigned maintenance discipline to ensure plant equipment, components and systems at STP are maintained in accordance with Technical Specifications, plant procedures, policies and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements. Coordinates the production activities of the various maintenance divisions and is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of excellence within the organization. Directs the preplanning of major rework or repair activities and maintenance efforts on high priority emergent rework or repair activities.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technical or a science (Preferred)
• Without a degree, 5 years’ experience in one or a combination of Nuclear Plant Operations; Maintenance; Plant Construction or Startup; Navy Nuclear Operations or Maintenance may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
• 8 Years in any combination of Nuclear Plant Operations, Maintenance, Plant Construction or Startup, Military Operations, or Maintenance, (7 yrs required if an SRO license is included).
• 3 years supervisory or managerial experience. (Required)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• There is no Licensure or Certifications required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
MAINTENANCE TECHNICAL MANAGER DUTIES:
Directs and defines activities of the appropriate maintenance discipline to ensure plant equipment, components and systems at STP are maintained in accordance with Technical Specifications, plant procedures, policies and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements. Directs the efforts of maintenance personnel to complete maintenance work activities as scheduled to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the units.
• Assists assigned discipline personnel in analyzing technical issues and correcting problems to mitigate schedule impacts. Mentor personnel through challenges. Ensures timely problem identification and appropriate corrective action.
• Provides expectations and performance criteria for assigned personnel. Ensure that training and development plans are implemented to meet individual and Company needs for the future. Participate on training committees, as appropriate.
• Directs the preplanning of major rework or repair activities and maintenance efforts on high priority emergent rework or repair activities.
• Represents the Maintenance organization on internal work teams or external groups.
• Oversee department’s CAP program. Establish timeline to close open items.
• Ability to interpret and implement the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Ability to interface effectively with management, bargaining unit personnel and Union representatives.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
Performs people management.
• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.
• Performs personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.
• Understands and implements company policies.
• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.
FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations.
• Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
• Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept Outage position.
• Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (NON-PLANT)
• Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
WORK LOCATION
• Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
