Supervises the application and maintenance of risk informed programs, assessment of risk for planned and emergent work and providing risk insights for regulatory reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Required)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

PROBABILISTIC RISK ASSESSMENT:

Maintain configuration control of the STP Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) models to reflect the as-built, as-operated plant and ensure the PRA models meet appropriate industry and regulatory standards.

RISK INFORMED APPLICATIONS:

Maintain STP risk-informed applications in accordance with regulatory requirements. Provide required technical analysis, software, and procedure processes to enable the station to effectively implement STP risk-informed applications, including the Configuration Risk Management Program, Risk Managed Technical Specifications, Graded Quality Assurance (GQA), and Surveillance Frequency Control Program.

SPONSORSHIP OF GQA AND PGR ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS:

Provides sponsorship of the GQA and Plant Generation Risk (PGR) electronic applications used in the station's Master Equipment Database and supports improvements and testing of these applications, as needed.

ENGINEERING TECHNICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION:

Directs the analysis of plant performance and provides recommendations regarding plant operations, maintenance, or testing. Acts as advocate for plant system/component health and the continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability.

• Directs the preparation of procurement documents for purchase of equipment, materials, and services to support operations, maintenance and testing within assigned area.

• Reviews and approves engineering documentation (e.g., design change packages, temporary modifications, calculations, specifications, analysis, drawings, engineering evaluations, item equivalency evaluations, etc.)

• Reviews non-conforming component dispositions. Evaluates the extent of the condition and its effect on the component's ability to perform the required design function.

• Provides management level reports on specific tasks and reviews and evaluates industry documentation and event reports for relevant application to STP and identify appropriate corrective actions.

• Reviews investigations for significant condition reports for apparent or root cause and develops recommendations for corrective actions.

• Leads the interface with other departments and regulatory agencies by leading meetings and discussions to provide specific information required to address questions/problems.

• Provides technical support for Operations, Maintenance & Work Control personnel. This includes troubleshooting, problem solving, preparation of design changes (including temporary modifications) and interpretation of documentation.

• Monitor organizational activities, evaluate impact of internal and external factors (e.g., technology, regulations, business environment) and implements response plans.

• Knowledge in the use of RISKMAN PRA software is preferred.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the department.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.

• Performs personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).

• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).

• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.

• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.

• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.

• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.

• Understands and implements company policies.

• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accept ERO position as needed.

• Accept outage position as needed.

• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.

• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

• May be required to work weekends, evenings or shift work to support plant priorities and emergent issues.

• Travel may be required.

• May be required to carry pager/phone.

WORK LOCATION

• Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
