Robert Half, an industry-leading talent management corporation, is seeking a skilled Senior Payroll Specialist with both depth and breadth of experience within the construction industry, specifically managing union payroll. This temporary position offers an exceptional opportunity for transition to full-time employment within our established team.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibilities for oversight, preparation, and processing of construction payroll functions, including adherence to union agreements. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of state and federal tax laws, underlying accounting principles, and the unique aspects of construction and union payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, and audit construction-specific payroll tasks, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

• Effective management and understanding of union payroll procedures.

• Analyze, reconcile and resolve payroll discrepancies.

• Maintain confidentiality while coordinating with HR for personnel administration and record upkeep.

• Compliance with all state, federal and union laws and requirements.

• Ongoing self-education in workshops, conferences, etc., in payroll trends.

  Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in the construction industry.

• Proven experience with union payroll processing.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with construction payroll software.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
