Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Engineer shall design, plan, establish, and optimize networks and enterprise network architecture
This role shall analysis and design of voice networks, LAN data networks, wireless networks, and/or network management systems to support voice and data services
The successful candidate will work independently or with a team
Develops, designs, and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion
Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported
Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications
Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services
REQUIREMENTS
The Network Engineer should be experience in telecommunications network design and management. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction, on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implement.
A minimum of two years of experience in wireless and network communications industry is required
Must have one of the following DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II or higher
Security+ CE
CASP CE
CYSA+ GICSP
GSEC
SSCP
CCNP Security
CISA
CISSP (or Associate)
GCED
GCIH
Must have one of the following:
Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E)
An active DoD Secret security clearance is required to start and must be able to obtain IT-I Sensitivity.
Network survey/ deployment/support and physical infrastructure experience recommended
Must have working knowledge of computer hardware/software fundamentals including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio

Telecommunications Network Engineer - Basic
This position is in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). DLA is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Network Operations (NETOPS) Engineering Support Services, located enterprise wide at multiple DLA locations. This position is intended to support DLA with a full range of IT technical expertise that support applications, software, hardware, infrastructure, and systems, across the DLA Enterprise LAN.
