Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) INDUSTRIAL AND MOBILIZATION SPECIALIST in Warren, Michigan

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Assess changes to industrial base competitiveness from mergers and acquisitions as well as national security concerns from foreign investments in the US. Conduct sector assessments that examine industrial base health and potential impacts to new or existing capabilities. Research and provide recommendations to senior Army leaders regarding the industrial base, mobilization, and production aspects of weapon systems procurement critical to the national defense. Identify and monitor parts obsolescence to maximize weapon system readiness. Perform platform and vendor-based analyses to capture cost, schedule, performance and risk trade-offs. Interpret technical manuals that support maintenance and repair procedures for use in supply chain risk management (SCRM) reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Working with multi-functional teams to apply supply chain management, logistics management, risk management, or program management concepts; AND (2) Conducting in-depth analysis on weapon systems, parts/NIINs, or stages within the acquisition lifecycle; AND (3) Communicating project, program, or assignment statuses for use in briefings to senior; AND (4) Researching organic or commercial industrial base vendors for capabilities and operational impacts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. TACOM D&A Level 2 Compiler Certification Requirement - The incumbent must meet all requirements for this certification within 24 months of being placed on the position or being notified of the PD update. TDY travel is occasionally required. This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position. The employee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level I in Contracting Professional within 3 years of being placed in to position.
