Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Training Instructor in Warren, Michigan

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as training instructor with ILSC. Responsibilities Serves as an instructor performing instruction, new equipment training and displaced equipment training for Programs within Materiel Fielding and Training Div. Delivers operator and maintainer training on a system or series of systems in accordance with AR350-1. Trains in classroom or motor pool environments using a mix of training products and hands-on training as needed. Responsible for training management such as setting up a classroom or training area, coordinating tools that are needed to execute training, tracking student attendance and participation and managing student records. Responsible to maintain system knowledge, skills, abilities and expertise for operation and maintenance. Responsible for knowledge of technical manuals, procedures, regulations, modifications or any changes that will impact training materials or methods. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Assisting in conducting vehicle and/or equipment operation and/ or maintenance training on equipment such as tracked vehicles (Bradley, Abrams, Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), Self Propelled Howitzer System (SPHS) or (2) Assisting in the development of lesson plans and training aids on operation and maintenance procedures with equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
