Microsoft Corporation Business Program Manager in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Business Program Manager to support Microsoft’s global cloud expansion in its Americas datacenters. The CELA Infrastructure team has an immediate opening for a program manager who will play a key role in how the team provides guidance on the geographic and market specific regulations impacting data center expansion and license to operate. This is a unique opportunity for a program manager to help Microsoft build hyperscale infrastructure for its rapidly expanding global cloud.

The CELA Infrastructure team provides support to the Cloud Operations + Innovation organization, the team behind one of the world’s largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for operating all Microsoft online products and services, including AI tools such as Copilot. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. This is a fast-growing division that is investing in datacenter capabilities and innovative projects around the world that can truly make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of a scale legal advisory program tasked with providing holistic guidance on regulations impacting data center infrastructure license to operate and market-specific requirements.

  • Collaborate with CELA Infrastructure team members to create a rhythm of business, communications plan, and execution strategy for the legal advisory program supporting the geographic expansion of our data center infrastructure. Provide expertise to produce collateral to ensure stakeholder needs and business objectives are met.

  • Define programmatic best practices for providing legal and regulatory support on a market-by-market basis. Support the development of a best-in-class process for legal gap analysis.

  • Collaborate with team members within and across organizational boundaries, including engineering teams, finance, marketing teams, government affairs and public relations.

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with business clients and executives.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience navigating matrixed, cross-functional business structures.

  • Program/project/change management in architecting processes to deliver legal support at scale.

  • Desire and ability to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team.

  • Keen business sense, ability to think creatively and strategically, and a sense of humor.

  • The ability to deliver impact through superior collaboration.

  • Results orientation, customer focus, a commitment to providing the highest quality client service, and a desire to develop trusted advisor relationships with business clients.

  • A passion for working in the technology sector and including a keen interest in applying technology, including AI, to improve legal work and efficiency.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
