Summary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Cybersecurity Operations Division. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will be a technical staff member for the agency providing the research, recommendation, development, maintenance, and update to the Bureau's cybersecurity, privacy and records management; and guidance in the assessment of IT security and the development of long-range plans to ensure the adequacy of and compliance with policies. Responsibilities As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Conduct risk assessments, security evaluations, and reviews of information systems and technologies throughout the system life cycle. Evaluate proposed new systems and technologies, system modifications and upgrades, and systems under development and in use to identify and assess the potential impact of systems threats and vulnerabilities. Design, develop, and recommend acquisition specifications related to IT security considerations and appropriate security design features and safeguards. Implement, promote, ensure, and monitor the rigorous application of approved information security policies, procedures, principles, and controls in the delivery of all IT services. Maintain liaison with systems development initiatives to promote use of these and other security related design features in all new systems. Develop efficient and cost effective recommendations to improve reliability and security, to protect against, detect, and react to threats and minimize vulnerabilities that jeopardize the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the BEP Enterprise Architecture. Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Participating in the development of security implementations affecting information technology security throughout an organization. Examples of such experience could include: -Identifying and monitoring risks and vulnerabilities in system development, operations, and management methods. -Developing policies, procedures and technologies to minimize risks and vulnerabilities. -Developing, implementing, and administering security technologies and solutions. -Developing audit plans, and conducting audits, vulnerability and risk analyses and evaluating the adequacy of management, operational and technical controls to provide information assurance. -Isolating and defining unprecedented conditions of risk and vulnerability affecting network security throughout an organization. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury.
