DSPolitical Office Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

We’re looking for a part-time Office Manager to join our team! 

The Office Manager will play a critical role in supporting the smooth operation of Office/Business Operations functions. This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive, and resourceful individual with strong multitasking abilities and a collaborative approach. Based in Washington, DC, this position requires on-site presence to manage office facilities.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Oversee office facilities and vendor coordination to ensure a functional and efficient workspace.

  • Maintain and track office supply budget and inventory. 

  • Ensure office cleanliness and provide office instructions and guidelines. 

  • Maintain and organize office filing systems (both physical and digital).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintaining and updating the company intranet.

  • Monitor and order office supplies to ensure the team has the tools needed to succeed.

  • Distribute and collect equipment for new hires and departing employees.

  • Schedule, setup, and manage company-wide engagement events (both in-person and remote).

  • Compile and distribute the weekly company newsletter.

  • Compile biweekly rewards and recognition submissions from staff and share them with the leadership team for voting. Announce winners at biweekly staff meetings. 

  • Serve as the liaison between staff and IT vendors to address and resolve technology issues.

  • Participate in project teams and complete action items as assigned.

  • Coordinate the distribution of staff and client gifts, as needed.

  • Conduct project-based research, as needed. 

    Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirement

  • Extremely process-oriented individual who thrives on completing tasks. 

  • 2+ years of experience working in operations. 

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Google Apps. 

  • Relevant project management experience required, along with demonstrated ability to manage others. 

  • Experience working in G Suite and Mac environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The base pay is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour depending upon factors including, but not limited to, experience, skill level, education and location. Expected work hours are 20-30 hours per week with an understanding that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary.

    Office Hours

    This position is based in Washington, DC and requires an in-office presence, four days per week. Office hours are consistently from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Office hours are consistently 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
