National Gallery of Art Program Analyst (Audience Research Associate) in Washington, District Of Columbia
Summary The primary purpose of the work in this position is to provide analytical and evaluative assistance to the Head of Planning and Evaluation in the Visitor Experience and Evaluation department responsible for planning and overseeing the department’s research and evaluation efforts related to programs, exhibitions, interpretative resources, collection installations and visitor experience initiatives. Responsibilities As the Program Analyst, you will: Plans and conducts research and evaluation projects related to programs, exhibitions, interpretative resources, collection installations, and other visitor experience initiatives. Responsibilities include meeting with project teams, developing research plans using a variety of methods, and drafting, testing and implementing data collection instruments and protocols. This includes collecting data both onsite and virtually, and working with internal, and occasionally external, data collectors. Consolidates new and existing data, preparing it for comparative analysis and reporting. Conducts qualitative and quantitative analyses using Excel and web-hosted tools. Compiles quantitative results and qualitative findings. Strong focus on designing accurate, clear, and compelling data visualizations to be used in reports, presentations, and dashboards. Cleans, codes and processes data. Writes and proofreads reports. Synthesizes reports into non-technical language to communicate findings and recommendations to the project team and other stakeholders. In collaboration with Head of Planning and Evaluation, maintains and improves effective systems and procedures related to intaking projects, allocating resources, establishing timelines, and communicating with staff and other stakeholders. Documents and tracks progress on all audience research and evaluation projects using Wrike project management application. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a United States Citizen. Qualifications OPM Qualifications Standard: Individual Occupational Requirements: Management and Program Analysis Series 0343 Associated Group standard: Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions Specialized Experience Statement: For this position, specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-09 level in the federal service, preparing reports on audience development for a museum or cultural institution. OR a Ph.D. or Equivalent Degree OR three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Master’s or professional law degree.
